Kerala brings images of fresh greenery. What about this land’s people and their culture?
We immerse ourselves into the Keralan culture through its rich variety of performing art forms. Most of the folk art forms are associated with rituals of indigenous communities. Every performance has a reason that highlights the threads that bind the local people.
Abundant effort goes into the make-up of the performers and the workmanship in the costumes, jewels and props. Such meticulous prep adds depth to the artist’s performance. The musical instruments, especially those of the percussionists add great vigour to the dance. Most of these forms involve theatre. The stories enacted are mythological incidents that are part of the cultural weave of Indian society. The performances usually depict the triumph of good over evil in such an easily comprehendible way that ensures instant connect with the audience
Our program takes you beyond the stage, into the homes of the people who are part of these grand productions. The ethnicity preserved in these art forms and the lives of people, inspite of numerous foreign influences, will be a unique experience for you.
